A sister to the MURS BS Kit, the MAPS BS Kit is a long range wireless driveway alarm kit that has a sensor that will detect cars only. The transmitter/sensor has a metal probe you would bury parallel to the driveway (estimate 12” deep). When a large metallic object enters within 10′ of the probe, the transmitter will send a wireless signal up to several miles to the transceiver.
Please take a moment to watch this short introductory video to the MAPS BS Kit. As with all of our products, please call or email us with any questions.
We have spoken a lot in previous posts about the MURS based wireless driveway alarms by Dakota Alerts. Like all the Dakota products, this kit is extremely reliable and has a receiver chock fill of features. The main selling point of this product is the range. Using “Multi Use Radio Service” (same thing a walkie-talkie uses) the transmitter is capable of sending a wireless unit up to several miles. This means ranchers, farmers finally have a system that will alert them when people enter their property. Plus, you can also get this kit with a hand held transceiver which means you can roam around your property. In many cases, even though the distance may be short environmental factors from metal, concrete, terrain, or other factors will cut down the range of other systems. The MURS system is a great system to use in those situations.
Take a moment to watch this short video high lighting the MURS features and as always, please call us at 800-366-7235 if you have any questions.
The Di2000S-A, the Driveway Informer, a wireless driveway alarm is the flagship product of Security2020.com for many reasons. The most important is because this driveway alert system remains to be a top performer, even as new systems come and go.
The Di2000S-A consists of two components, a transmitter(sensor) and a receiver(speaker). The transmitter is a PIR based sensor that is activated when heat and motion is detected within the detection zone. The combination of heat and motion triggering the transmitter is important because this eliminates false alarms commons with lesser systems. In systems that do not require this combination, shadows, rain, fog, falling leaves, etc. can often set off the alarms. This may not sound like a big deal but as soon as your system starts emitting false alarms, your trust in the system is diminished–thus making the system in effective.
The sensor is powered by a 9-volt battery and will last, on average, two years with an estimate 200 chimes (alerts) per day. The transmitter is light-weight and mounts easily with the included mounting bracket and mounting screws. A great feature with this system is that you can also add additional sensors to the system. For example, if you own a larger parcel of land with different approaches into the property, this allows you to add another sensor. You don’t have to mount the sensors on a driveway though. The sensor detect motion and heat, so you can mount them anywhere you want to detect this heat and motion. Retail stores, for example, can mount them to shoot across the store entry way to detect when customers enter the store.
The receiver plugs into a standard wall outlet. If has a LCD resettable counter, and a volume control knob located on the back of the unit. In addition to these features, the product also features a 12V DC terminal to connect accessories such as an X-10 adapter, sirens, strobe lights, etc., as well as an external speaker connection terminal. The receiver is capable of playing four different chime sounds which allows you to zone the receiver to match sensor zones you set up.
The Di2000S-A is an American made product in accordance with strict military manufacturing standards. For additional information, please watch the short video below and visit the product on the Security2020.com website, the Di20ooS-A.
The SL-40 is small, compact wireless entrance alert activated by motion. Similar to its sister product, the DA50L-A Wireless Entrance Alert Set. As a matter of fact, both units use virtually the same PIR based sensor. The major difference between the two products is that the SL-40 is a self contained unit, meaning the sound emanates at the sensor. There are no other parts, no wires, nothing to connect it to. Simply mount the SL-40 over the doorway or hallway you want to monitor and the unit is working. It runs on a 9-volt battery with an estimated battery life of up to two years based on normal usage (100 chimes a day).
Below is a short introduction video to the SL-40 wireless entrance alert.
In previous posts, we have tried to explain the differences between some of the Security2020 imitation security cameras and those of our competition. Although the differences between another company’s cameras and our may seem slight, they are significant to the one who matters most – the potential thief or vandal.
Take a couple of minutes to watch this brief video that provides an overview of the security cameras offered by Security2020. These cameras are made from actual outdoor cameras housings and are assembled in our factory. The are great, cost-effective ways to deter crime.
GE 45234 Color Security Camera with Night Vision and AV Receiver
If you are like most people with small children, once you put the kids to bed, the television is on so you can unwind at night. We just transitioned him from the crib to a full sized bed and because of that, my wife likes to keep his bedroom door opened at night in case he falls out of bed, gets up, etc. The problem is that his bedroom is just down the hallway from the family room so we keep the new turned down so low we can barely hear it. Until we installed the GE Color Security Camera with AV Receiver. Don’t let the small price tag and easy set up fool you — this little system is jammed packed with features.
Set up is a breeze. The wireless camera can mount on the wall or sit on a level surface. The kit comes with an ac adapter to plug the camera into a standard wall outlet and there is an optional rechargeable lithium batter available. This is a security camera that can transmit a wireless color video and audio signal up to 200 feet to the receiver. Simply plug the receiver into the a/v inputs on your television and you can now monitor what is going on in the room with the security camera installed. The camera also has an audio alert feature which means you will be alerted when noise is detected within the camera monitoring zone. Also, this camera is weatherized which means it is outdoor rated. The system is capable of adding on two additional cameras.
Take a moment to watch this short video below outlining the product. If you want a surveillance system with the headaches usually associated with them, this is the product for you.
The DA50L-A, or the Rodann TX1000A/RX1000A is a robust, commercial grade entrance alert product. Don’t be fooled by cheap competitors typically offered in the big box stores or mall retailers. With cheap entrance alert systems, any interference by metallic objects, concrete, stucco, etc. will make the product unreliable and thus useless.

For those of you who have visiting our website, security2020.com, you know we market many different Fake Security Cameras. We frequently receive calls from customers asking us why we market simulated or fake cameras over real or live security cameras, and the questions often asked are “do these fake cameras really work?”
The founder of Security 2020, Ron Henry, was a retired military veteran with many years experience. After his military career, Ron traveled across the world as a security consultant. He would install live surveillance at casinos, banks, retails stores, warehouses, and other organizations he would consult with. Most of the time he would install domes that rested on the ceiling, with a camera inside, and a camera mounted to the wall. After visiting one of his past customers, their security department raved at how effective the security system Ron installed was for them at deterring crime. Yes, the had identified a couple of thieves here and there but the true beauty was the fact that the amount of crime dramatically dropped–almost overnight. As a matter of fact, this store had increase sales since his last visit but the % of loss or “shrinkage” for their store actually dropped. So what was causing this drop? It was the fact that these security cameras acted as a crime deterrent and this made common criminals think twice about what they were about to do.
A few months later Ron was visiting a large retail store. They wanted to add additional cameras to cover a blind spot. The problem was it was cost prohibitive for this large retail store to run the necessary cabling and power supply needed to power these cameras. One thing to note was this was in the late 70′s and there really wasn’t such a thing as wireless security cameras. Ron relayed his experience with the company out in Texas and they jointly decide they would go ahead and mount the new camera but not power them up. Basically, they wanted potential criminals to see the cameras the “think” the were being monitored. There was not difference between the live and non-powered security cameras. These technique worked so well that this store continued ordering cameras but never powered them up.
So this is how it all began….necessity is the mother of invention I guess. Way back then, there really wasn’t such a thing as fake or dummy security cameras. What Ron decide to do was to take the camera housings, the same exact ones he would use for live, actual cameras, and put them inside and outside of stores to provide a realistic look of actual surveillance cameras. As he got better and better he started added options and other features to the camera, making them look even more realistic. Ron purchase the same exact outer camera housings he used for the live cameras to custom build the dummy cameras.
As surveillance cameras have evolved since that time, most surveillance cameras are still placed inside the protective shell of an outer camera housing. These may be seen at retail stores, in casinos, even at amusement parks across America. If designed and manufactured correctly, the fake cameras and dummy security cameras work because they are virtually indistinguishable from the real thing. This means you are going to spend less money for the same deterrent effect. There is on major drawback and that is the fact that these cameras will not record the crime in action. If you have a theft and need to turn film over to law enforcement, this is not the system to do that — you will need an actual system. But for most small business owners, how don’t have the money or resources required to purchase, install, and maintain a live security system, fake security cameras are a great alternative. They deter crime. The will decrease theft in your store.
Take a moment to look at some the dummy security cameras located on security2020.com. These cameras are made with current outdoor security camera housings. They look great and will deter crime. Anyone who tells you differently is trying to sell you a live, more expensive camera.
With the increasing number of wireless driveway alarms, more people are finding it difficult to select the best. This type of alarm is used for the purpose of detecting motion whenever someone tries to get through without authorization. Since wireless driveway alarms are considered a great addition to any home, there are a couple of factors which can guide you towards making the right choice.
Understand the purpose: Before going out to make a purchase, it is important to understand the purpose for which you are making the investment. This is because they come in varying designs and types with each designed to meet specific needs. For instance, there are some are integrated with live camera while others have visual displays for keeping an eye on children. Still, there are others that can’t detect animal movement.
The cost is also important and it should be given much thought. Wireless driveway alarms available in the market come at varying prices. Some are made from high quality materials and they tend to be more expensive while others are of low quality. In this regard, if you are looking for quality, it should be priced roughly around $ 140 or even less. While there are people who consider this expensive, it is important to weigh the benefits and peace of mind it gives your family. However, you have to observe a certain level of caution since not all expensive models are of high quality.
Read reviews. Before going out to buy wireless driveway alarms, it is important to read reviews. This is important and it gives you great insights into the best choices. For instance, seek to find out the distance it can send signals before committing yourself. For instance, you can select a model that sends signals up to one thousand feet whether in an open area or outdoors. Incases where there is any kind of interference, this should be at least 300 feet.
Add-ons. You have to consider the kind of add-ons that come with the wireless driveway alarms you intend to buy. This is important since they vary from one dealer to another. For instance, there are those that claim to be waterproof while others come with backup batteries. It is important to ensure you select a model that meets and surpasses your needs.
Easy installation. Always make sure that the wireless driveway alarms you buy are easy to install. If this is not the case, you should reconsider your options unless you are planning to have the system installed by a professional.
Quality is always important when buying these items. In this case, take time to review the materials used to deign the wireless driveway systems. Note that in most cases, those designed with substandard materials only last a couple of months or even less before you get forced to find some replacements.
These alarms can safeguard your property and ensure that your family is safe at all times. It is due to this fact that it is important to take all these factors into consideration before buying the wireless driveway systems.
As the economy worsens, so does the crime rate. Theft becomes the top most crime in any state when hardships, fluctuation of prices on food products, or other economic conditions hit a city. When this happens, there are steps you can take to avoid you or your property becoming a statistic. One easy thing you can do is to deploy an entrance alert for your home.
There are many different types and sizes of entrance alerts making it necessary for you to choose the ones that fit your needs in the best way possible. Before installing the unit, which ever one you decide to purchase, it is important to take time and think through where you want to put the entrance alert. Because all homes are different, each will require a different plan. Ensure you have enough alert sensor units to ensure you are covering each entrance to your home or property. Not only do you need to ensure you are covering all entrances into your property, you need to ensure you are placing the sensor as inconspicuously so a potential criminal cannot easily disable them.
Preparation: Before you can shop for entrance alerts, walk through your house and determine how many your house requires. All points of entry e.g. doors, windows, basements, garages etc. should be inclusive. Again, it is important to place the alerts at all points of entry. The keypads should have a perfect location to turn the alert unit on and off. There should be easy accessibility to them from the primary entrance but at the same time hidden in the best way possible.
Comparison: Since there are several security monitoring organizations specializing in entrance alerts, make sure you give them a clear layout of you house as well as the plan for initializing personal security requirements. Prior to that, make sure you take time to compare different types and prices from dissimilar companies before making your final; settlement. You can opt to choose an entrance alert unit that will solely alert you immediately if there is a false entry in your house. The alerts should have the ability to sound alarms. However, the owner will play a major role in calling the police.
Types:Entrance alerts are found in many types in that, there are those that are electrical, have infra red, air pressure, magnetic, battery powered and much more. There are those that require connection through wires. A professional is required to do the wiring safely on the wall without raising any suspicion. Wireless entrance alerts use batteries and a person requires a radio signals to facilitate communication. When making your decision, check out the type that doesn’t easily get affected by what is powering it to work such electricity, battery etc. Any complications caused by these power types can lead to your entrance alerts turned off.
Setup: Once your entrance alerts are securely placed in their place, it is imperative for you to run some setups. This can be in terms of date, time and other aspects. Most of these units come with setup directions that are very simple to follow. In case you have taken the entrance alert unit form a company, make some verifications with them to ensure that the alert unit is working well. However, if you have bought it directly from the store, conduct a test via the help of a friend to ensure that the alarm sound is loud and clear.
